Easy? It depends on who makes it, for n00b like me who are trying to get closer to the modding is not easy. There are tutorials to do this? Maybe for the n00b like me. Also I think this thing should be explained and clarified wiki, now might create confusion and frustration for new users.

Sorry for bad English, but unfortunately I help with the translator of google. So, I'm just following this guide ( deadrisingwiki.com/wiki/Mod:Model_Swap ) to put the textures of a soldier by replacing default frank. In this case, I took the texture and I renamed the file as requested (chest_default), then I deleted file entries in the rest of the body from bigfile not to make them appear in the game (head, legs, etc..). This is what I understand from the tutorial. But in the end after the procedure repack, the game crashes.

I followed the guide on the wiki to change the texture of Frank. The problem is that whatever I do after the game crashes. I tried following the tutorial, open the file npcs.big (no problem in the past I had already replaced the original model with others in the model section of the forum), I copied the files you want and renamed chest_default.big and chest_default . tex, returned to the folder and replaced, then I changed personally as bigfile want the tutorial. I deleted the entries as legs_naked, head_base, ecc, (but not legs_naked_Frank example) and then saved the whole. But nothing when it crashes after startup. Since we are talking about OTR is a few more steps than the classic version of Dead Rising 2 is explained in the guide? Or I something wrong?

I may try to rig carlos for you when I have the chance.I have a model of him somewhere.The only downside to the rig is that his mouth will not be rigged up.So in cutscenes he won't have his mouth moving.But he should be okay in game. Mod requests are hardly answered these days. Mariokart, the creator of the script, said he'd be coming back soon. I'd wait until he comes back and then ask away. I understand, then wait. In the meantime, keep trying and hope in the help of someone. Thanks to all

Well first you need a program that can convert the models to a readable format in 3ds max.I know the model files you said are for XNAlara.You can use that free program and get the models posed into the OTR models shape then export it as a obj from it.Then you need to learn how to use Mario's OTR model importing tool and learn how to rig the model to work in OTR.Will take some time but once you know what to do the results can be fantastic. Unfortunately I tried but I had many difficulties, even for my bad English and knowledge with these programs. Thanks for the advice, think that someone can help me? Maybe opening a topic in the Mod Requests?

Hello everyone, I'm having trouble converting a model to be used in place of Frank OTR. The model in question is that of Carlos Oliveira RE, which I would later post on this site, I have all the files (extracted from another game), but I just can not understand how you can convert them. The files are .Tga, .mesh and .ascii. Does anyone know how to help me? Tips?

I don't know how to do it but you may want to try and replace with the OTR model (or just request it from freako or wizard) It 'difficult to replace it with the OTR modell? How could I do? If these two users could do this to me please? (Also why do not I know them and not even know how to ask...)

It crashes because DR2 had 1 less bone outside of cutscenes the OTR. What solutions?

Hello everyone, I hope I have written to the right place, if not forgive me but I am a real noob. I approached the mod Dead Rising OTR through this forum, very useful and full of explanations. Unfortunately there are very capable and my little knowledge of the language affect me much. So excuse me if there are errors. Anyway, I asked a help here, because I tried a mod that would change the model of Frank with that of a soldier, like in this mod. Could you help me?
