well the model folders are all loose. By that I mean thay arn't compressed in .big files. So all you need to do is navigate to your dr3 models folder, find the clothing folder and in there are all of Nick's outfits. His DLC outfits and the untold stories survivors outfit models are in the dlc folder inside clothing. Hope that helps you a bit. The only challenge is knowing what model is the spec ops. Most are simply named while others are vague. Thanks, that's what I thought. Though I don't suppose there's some program that allows you to view the models, right? Just so it's not all trial and error in figuring out which models to work with. Sadly no complete script let's you view what is what. I mean there is half a scrit that let's you export the model, but the UVs are not working for it.

Ever since I played on Xbox One at launch, I've wanted to wear the Spec Ops helmet with the glasses you see the other soldiers wear. This would be easily remedied if I could just wear the Sporty Glasses with the default helmet, but for some reason that's not allowed, despite the fact that it'd look totally fine.
Seeing as model swapping seems to be easy (just renaming files and whatnot), is it possible to make this simple change? If so, could someone direct me to the right files? New update. Otis has been fully HDed which means I will be moving on to Brad and Jessie next. BNJ is current;y working on HDing up the security room. So expect to see a bit more soon.

So when I select the outfits in game it just reverts to Nick's default outfit. Did they remove the models from the game? Have you got all the updates and installed it all correctly? As it has worked for me every time I have used it.

Mhm I ported over Freako's OTR outfits to DR2. But the fact is it takes a good bit of time getting the models rigged right as a lot of issues and bugs can happen on them. I would do it myself but I am busy with a lot of things these days, as well as my job taking up a lot of my time. So if I find the time I will indeed get more dr1 outfits in.

Awesome! What are the chances of the rest of the costumes? Bit slim. Dress suit can be redone as I am sure they had the same model in dr2. Security captain outfit can be half done rusing the vest, pants and holsters, shoes and helmet textures being reused from the npc phenotrans security in otr. But the arms use a custom made texture capcom did, so can't fully finish it. Phenotrans casual wear can be remade. Journalist suit can be 100% redone as they reused the dr1 defauly frank outfit textures for the outfit, nerd glasses can be remade with ease. But it's just the time it will take. And I have less time now to do it. So feel free to chip in and help if you want.

how do we edit the bin file? Whenever I open it up, its just a bunch of jibberish.... could you post a download link of a gamemode bin file already edited? Try looking in the dr3 modding tools section. We use the dr3 bin tool to edit these files.

It should say .bin not big. There is no such thing as a dlc_preorder.big

is there a way to only put the weapons alone and no clothes? Yeah but it require you editing the dlc_preorder.bin file and only activating the weapons and not the outfits.

How to install for steam apocolypes version? i don't know how This already is for the apoco edition. No other editions of it. Anyway go to your dr3 folders dlc or data directory and look for the dlc_preorder.bin file or something with the name preorder on it. Then just swap that file out for this modded one and it is done. Always make a back up though just in case.

hi, i am using mariokart64s script for 3ds max to export the .tex to dds. which works very good. but for some reasons i dont get the normal maps. anybody who could help me out? No no one can help until mario releases his new script done for DR3. The script just does not have the data to handle the bump maps for some reason.

Is it possible for someone to replace franks DR2 running animations with DR1? I like DR1's animations more, it looks so silly, also it would probably make him look young, and i do want to play as DR1 frank on my PC. Nope can't be done as we have no tools to open and edit the animations.

Well, alright. As I mentioned though, the links to the programs are unfortunately dead. :/ I couldn't play around and try to open them even if I wanted. Specifically, I'd need that "Dr2TextureConvert.bms" script for QuickBMS. I can get the rest of the programs elsewhere. Do you happen to have a copy of the script that you could re-upload? No. But Mario;s 3ds max big unpacker and repacker scripts can unpack the .tex files and if the unpacked textures shows as DDS files it makes it much easier to mod and repack the textures.

The ui files aka where the buttons are can be unpacked but will be a bct format. I mean you could try that method to see if you can edit them, but 9 times out of 10 you can't.

We can't mod the textures directly for dr2 and otr. Hard to find out where the buttons are and how we can get in to them.

Anyway to play as the general? I try to simple swap the model,but the bones are not right. It won't work over Nick as the general aka Hemlock has a different bone set than Nick does. Hence why it messes up.

As you may have read there is no model import/reimporter as that is something mario is still working on. So no nothing of the model import variety can be done yet.

I don't know as the true eye cult will only replace the looters in the cutscene as the killable ones are grouped in with the zombies. So Not sure I will work on this farther. Sean I could bring back. Not sure who to put him over. Maybe Roger cause of the swords.

OTR's debug mode can be used, the only thing it misses is a co-ords line on screen to use for placement, but a lot of the stuff uses the same co-ords from dr2, so you coul get a co-ord with dr2's debug and use it in otr in say Royal Flush Plaza. It's only Uranus Zone we can't get things from. XD

I've done modding before, I know how slow it can be. That's just like extra tedious. Part of good game development is find how you can speed up processes, automate things and then double check them. Otherwise you'll never meet a deadline. I do know this you know. I've modded for a long time also.

God I wish I knew how to program, I bet this would be super easy to write a program to generate missions for automatically. Simply punch in the item and it's location and it would generate a mission for it. Feels like way too much work to do each item by hand. Well we did tell you it would take time and a lot of patience. That's how it is with modding. Also remember when you edit the missions or any txt file in the datafile.big now thanks to steam changing it, you need to start a new game or restart your old save where you can keep the current level.

now that we are in 2015 there's some solution to this problem?? i really want to disable the depth of field because in fortune park my game lag as hell -.- The lag is down to your hardware after all and I believe there was a way to edit the DOF. Not sure which post had it.

Should've looked at the modding tools and stuff. Anyway most easiest way to unpack tex files after you unpack the streameddataassets.big is to use mario's big unpacker script on the tex files. You'll need 3ds max to use his scripts though. But it will quickly unpack the tex file textures and produce a folder with the textures all in DDS format. Cool thanks I can do it now, prepare for some texture mods! Yeah use the big unpacker on the text to unpack it, make your edits in photoshop with the DDS plugin and then use the big repacker script to well repack it.

hi i try to use but it just quickly closes. im just trying to get a complete list of all models. i saw another thread but they didn't include bosses. i dont know why thes wouldnt work. Well the list was updated and we got most of the boss files named. Also the recent updated one should work for everyone as everyone else seems to be working alright with it. Does it give you a error box or just closes as you said with no indication as to why?
