Ye so hi,
As I am not a fan of visiting forums , I do not know if you can post tutorials in them and are they allowed , although I did Checked the rules and I don't think that I am doing the wrong thing , but if I do , ya got every right to move , delete this one , but this guide has got to be told in English,Therefore
Last week I was looking for a guide to play this one Lan , as the game got taken away from live and moved to steam. As I know a little of Russian I stumbled upon this site with this guide:
coop-land.ru/rookovodstva/page,1,2,8429-rukovodstvo-zapuska-dead-rising-2-po-seti.html
The guide wasn't effective, as everyone crashed upon saving settings And the Game itself when ya reach a restroom , I decided to review comments.I took part in testing the suggested links and after 3 and more days of testing and bug fixing , I am proud to say that the Lan is Really working for this game and it's awesome!
So right now I am gonna make a step by step guide on how to play it , and what has to be kept in mind:
-Setting up the game for a launch:
1.Get the game. So far you can get any version of it , as the lan fix works with any of it.
2.Instal the Lan Fix by simply moving the files into the game folder. Did a little of research on "SmartSteamEmu" , and it's basically a program that tricks game into thinking that the matches are searched in Local Network rather than Online.
3.Open up an .ini file called SmartSteamEmu, and change the PersonaName into the nickname you will be using for co-op gameplay.
4.If you had previously saved games using the Live interface , back those savegames up. The folder from My documents/MyGames/ called "Dead Rising 2" has to be deleted in order to find other players game in seconds, because your actual save files will be stored in: AppData/Roaming/SmartSteamEmu.

-Hosting and Joining the game:
1. You and your friend both have to be in same room/Network of Tunngle Or hamachi ( or in any other Lan program you prefer ). I have tested how those two programs works together , and I came up with conclusion that they cannot both coexist, which means that you must have One of them uninstalled in order to see each other In game.
2. The host a game , You just start one and you must have completed the prologue and just wait inside the Shelter. The game visibility is set to "Public" by default, so other players will be able to see you without you changing any settings.
3. To join the game , ya have to Click on Join Coop Game, Join Live Game. Pick a savegame you wanna join the Game With, and it will start searching for games. Eventually the host will get a request to join his/her game, and will have an option to accept the player in. If you want to join your Friend's game and nobody else's , just join a different , empty or just a different game network , where you will be able to find nobody but your friend's game, If you're using Tunngle.
Notes:
- You can tell whether your friend is online in the game or not by simply checking the ingame friends list. You do not have the power of managing it , as it basically shows every player that is on same network and has launched the game.
- As good as this whole thing might sound , the friend list is not that perfect, as it shows players online Even if you they left the network ages ago. You are gonna have to restart the game , If you wanna see Who really is online and who is not, Yet again that is optional.
- Some People may say that they can't see their friends online while in game ( I mean on friends list ). That is probably because the Firewall and / Or antivirus is activated on either of ends.So if you want to host and your host to be found , disable or allow a game trough it.
That's pretty much it , if I forgot to mention something , I Shall correct that mistake in the future. If this guide will be meant to be taken down , so be it , but at least it will end up in the right hands ( or at least I am hoping for it ).
