Mariokart, you have NO idea how much trouble you just saved me, with that script.
Yeah, the spec and bump maps don't convert properly, but I can easily create myself using Blender, so I'm not too concerned about those.

I found where Frank's clothing is stored, in files named arcromplcoscos000cos000.arc with the numbers counting up. Frank's Jacket! Importing the model results in this: But I found all the files for Frank's default outfit. Mario if you could convert these over the crappy default outfit in Off The Record that'd be awesome. Also here are some Areas I was able to identify by looking at their textures: Some of them may be guesses from what I saw in the textures. I've seen many .arc's with almost identical files inside them, Dunno what that's about. Hope this helps for any further modding.

chrrox found some typos in my script, normal maps now work pastebin.com/BaA2Kui2however spec maps still dont, noesis does not support ATI1 you'll notice that some texture will look compressed funny.. those are ATI... oops I think I left the debugger enabled?

Here's the exclusive clothing from case zero in Xbox compressed .big format: db.tt/XHKK5quIf someone could unswizzle chest_young_chuck.tex, that'd be awesome.

I spent hours identifying models and no one even acknowledges it. Cool.

I'll be making a DR1 outfit pack for OTR, sometime, so I wouldn't say it wasn't acknowledged.
In fact, tomorrow, I'll be getting some models together for the DR1 pack. I might include some of the Wii exclusive outfits like Apocalypse Frank.

I gotta figure out the havok stuff in the model files, like collision and physics.. anyway when you extract your ARC files use this BMS; > the file extensions are stored as a ID, this script will rename those ids to their proper extension. like tex and mod, needed for noesis preview endian big idstring "\0CRA" # "ARC\0" big endian get VERSION short get FILES short
for i = 0 < FILES getdstring NAME 64 get EXT long get ZSIZE long get SIZE long get OFFSET long if EXT == 1018003574 string NAME + .tex elif EXT == 272743838 string NAME + .mod elif EXT == 1332739548 string NAME + .fcp elif EXT == 641763256 string NAME + .fca elif EXT == 867601982 string NAME + .xml elif EXT == 1414542962 string NAME + .xml elif EXT == 296724104 string NAME + .xml elif EXT == 553864336 string NAME + .arc elif EXT == 1592916818 string NAME + .lcm elif EXT == 329180445 string NAME + .lmt elif EXT == 87164479 string NAME + .bts elif EXT == 1483314609 string NAME + .bns elif EXT == 731104429 string NAME + .xfs elif EXT == 776455971 string NAME + .xfs elif EXT == 1413366238 string NAME + .mkl elif EXT == 1976701554 string NAME + .pdc elif EXT == 956357328 string NAME + .cbs elif EXT == 1953552361 string NAME + .2tx else string NAME + . string NAME + EXT endif clog NAME OFFSET ZSIZE SIZE next i

Freako, you are incredible. I would love to help create a Santa Cruza prequel game, a good follow up to infinity mode. Thanks to your work, the only thing we need now to make this a reality is to figure out how to manipulate the surfaces that Chuck/Frank walks on, and we could make new areas. Since the google toolbar has been deleted, I am having a hard time finding the post where we did some research on this. Can't even remember the name. I am going to restore most of the features we had before.

What? I didn't do anything. I just opened up the map file in noesis, anybody can do that. The most I did was identify where the map and outfit files are located. (Although I was the first person to EVER explore Willamette up close)

Wow, you guys are amazing. That is some fantastic stuff! I was never fortunate enough to play the first DR mostly because I am PC-devoted and can't be bothered to spend for another gaming system.
But the hopes of actually being able to see this really makes my day!

Where do you download noesis? Is it a script for Autodesk? Is this how freako and plasmid got their screenshots and Willamette video? I would like to write a tutorial as I have many other tutorials.UPDATE: Found noesis Downloadencase anyone cares, I wrote up a py plugin for noesis..... get the script here pastebin.com/QjibZQ1Jcopy and paste into a notepad, and save as this file, in the specific file path \\Noesis\plugins\python\fmt_deadrising_tex.py after you extract an arc you'll get models and textures, this script opens up the textures.. unfortunately not all of them. the author of noesis will have to do the rest, but I'm not sure if he's even going to work on it?

Anno, that is only a screenshot of my really old texture mod with a slight model editing, I already released an older version and I don't see why I should bother releasing the updated one because eventually we're going to get Frank's DR1 outfit anyway.
I would try to do it myself, but my rigging skills are quite sub par so i'll leave it to someone else.

Okay, I am downloading Dead Rising 1. To save me time is there any particular files I should only download? How do I open these files? there are around 70 dr-drisp files. Oh you released it? I will look. thanks for reply. Hmmm, can't find it, only found this, not for me, but for the community. I personally will never use the mod. But everyone else REALLY wants this mod, just read over this forum. anytime I mention the advances that incredible modders like you make, everyone brings up Frank.

headwear_base_frank.big <- hair headwear_base_frank.tex
head_naked_frank.big <- default head head_naked_frank.tex
chest_default_frank.big chest_default_frank.tex
hands_naked_frank.big hands_naked_frank.tex
leg_default_frank.big leg_default_frank.tex
feet_default_over_frank.big feet_default_over_frank.tex
feet_default_under_frank.big feet_default_under_frank.tex
Although you don't have to replace anything, I can add it in as a new outfit, but you'll need to make a file for each of those items.

thank you both. if you have a minute to chat in the chatbox (bottom) I would sure like some instructions on how to do this myself. Then I can create a tutorial and get more people involved. I envision making a "chuck's a chic" mod with all dead rising characters. I just created this, adding it to the top of all of the relevant model import pages: [importbox] ... You simply enclose the words importbox with square brackets [ ] to add it anywhere. All templates are found here. More info on the chuck's a chic mod: [clothingbox] Video of the huge mod: Anno, that is only a screenshot of my really old texture mod with a slight model editing, I already released an older version and I don't see why I should bother releasing the updated one because eventually we're going to get Frank's DR1 outfit anyway.
