Update, freeroam with zombies
While working on the infinity mode project, I created a missions.txt file with: No survivors, No zombies, No psychopaths No missions, No cases. Download (alternate)Go to data/datafile.big
Save your old datafile.big
Place this datafile.big. Tom tested it, and it runs for 9 hours, all the way through to Day 5 at 12 pm noon, and it gives you an ending S. (times need to be confirmed)Adding zombies.Adding back the zombies requires you to copy and paste 9 sections from your original missions.txt into this empty one. Day1 Day2 Day4to5_GASZOMBIES DropTerminates Day3 Drop_PushZombie_Placement Yucatan_Shoal UndergroundElevators4 Day4to5 see: deadrisingwiki.com/wiki/Zombies.big#Zombie_factoryfor more information. notepad++ I edit all my files using notepad++ with language >> C >> C option in the menu bar.
This allows me to collapse each section easily. And copy and paste only around 10 lines (9 collapsed large sections), instead of dozens of pages.
Also it remembers what pages I am editing when i close the program and turn off my computer.
Disregard this old missions.txt file:Attachments:

This is a great idea. I tested it however and it looks like there is no way to exit the beginning arena. I have tried other game saves to change location and they immediately crash the game (I'm assuming because they reference data that isn't present in the modified missions.txt file). I was wondering about the possibility of adding a teleport to exit the arena (and possibly to access other inaccessible areas during free roam - the fortune hotel and south plaza seem to always be locked unless you progress past meeting Rebecca during the story).
Any thoughts?
Thanks! -Metz

I will do this tonight and repost a new version. I would suggest getting debug mode to move from mission to mission freely from the main screen. I never tried this on previous saves but can see why this would crash. I have never heard of the hotel being locked. I don't think it is. We are actively working on unlocking the other doors for infinity mode. In debug mode you can jump to missions where these locations, like the underground, are already unlocked.

From my email. don't private message me questions: Hey anno1404 , I was just wondering if you could help me out with something well you have been, I am the one that's been asking for help with the free-roam mod. I got it to work with debug mode i can successfully save and load the only thing is i cant load older saves prior to my debugging i now cant open any bikes cars etc i cant use the maintenance rooms either
my main goal for this was to be able to free roam with no time limit save successfully and load successfully while being able to open everything and pocket everything i know you work on a lot of mods and have a lot on your plate so thanks for all the help and if you could continue helping it would be greatly appreciated I now know how to unpack and pack using gibbed like you were talking about earlier thanks to your guides well message me back whenever you can in infinity mode we had Stacey give you the maintenance key when she died. You can also click F2 and go into god mode, allowing you to float into a maintenance room. We have a pocket everything mod. If you want to do this, you are going to have to download gibbeds and learn how to mod. I am busy with huge mod and huge mod 3 right now, and I learned the hard way with chuck the chic attempting to work on two mods at the same time really messes me up.

Update: I moved the start point as the bike repair shop. Run down the hallway to the chapel door. you will teleport to the arena.
Download the new datafile.big to do this.

This is the EXACT mod I want, it's exactly what I want out of DR2, but I have an issue.
My game works fine with my datafile.big but when I replace it with the Freeroam with Zombies one, when I'm in game and I choose a save game to load, the game crashes?
Any help? Thanks!

since this changes the missions you will need to start a new game, or a new game+ (restarting your story). Basically the game is trying to load missions that no longer exist.
Remember to backup your datafile.big!

Thanks for the help but unfortunately I'd already tried that, assuming that would be the problem but it did not work. When I pressed New Game, or Restart Story, I'd get the Loading page, and then per the other issues, the game would crash.
Would it help if I deleted any save games or something?
Or maybe if I started a new game without the mod, to free up a Save File and THEN put the mod on, perhaps?
Thanks!

ok, are you using the complete blank mod, or the one with zombies?
