It says it right there. At least now I know why there has always been the topic link when I copied something out of here. Neato.

Board URL: deadrising2mods.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=dr2offtopi&thread=694&page=1So many people can't get this to work on their first try (myself included), so here are very basic instructions. Create html or javascript coding in postingsYou must be a admin or someone who has been given access to the footers create this mod. Regular members with no rights to the footers can post the posting code for the script ([thescript]) in their own postings, and the html will appear in their postings, but regular members cannot change the script in the footer. Again, only admins or someone who has been given access can change the footers. Instructions Click Admin | |
Headers and Footers | |
Select Board page >> Global Header/Footer >> Continue button | |
You should now be on the Modify Headers and Footers page. | |
In the footer box add the following: <span id="postscript" style="display:none;">
HTML OR JAVASCRIPT HERE
</span> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- /* secure html or script in posts by california */
var postCode="[thescript]";
var td=document.getElementsByTagName("td"); var script=document.getElementById("postscript").innerHTML; if(location.href.match(/action=(display|goto|search2)/)){ for(i=0;i<td.length;i++){ if(td[i].className.match(/windowbg/) && td[i].width != "20%" && td[i].innerHTML.indexOf(postCode) != -1){ td[i].innerHTML=td[i].innerHTML.replace(postCode,script); } } } // --> </script>
Where the words: HTML OR JAVASCRIPT HERE are, add your code that you want in your postings. | |
For example: <span id="postscript" style="display:none;">
<a href="http://www.w3schools.com">This is a link</a>
</span> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- /* secure html or script in posts by california */
var postCode="[thescript]";
var td=document.getElementsByTagName("td"); var script=document.getElementById("postscript").innerHTML; if(location.href.match(/action=(display|goto|search2)/)){ for(i=0;i<td.length;i++){ if(td[i].className.match(/windowbg/) && td[i].width != "20%" && td[i].innerHTML.indexOf(postCode) != -1){ td[i].innerHTML=td[i].innerHTML.replace(postCode,script); } } } // --> </script> Click Save ChangesNow go to any thread and create a new thread. | |
Type in:
[thescript] | |
And save. | |
The following should show up in your new posting: This is a linkAdding a second html scriptFollow the instructions as above to navigate to Modify Headers and Footers page. In the footer box below the first California html script, add the following, changing the items in red to what you desire: <span id="googletest" style="display:none;">
<a href="http://www.google.com">Google is watching you</a>
</span> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- /* secure html or script in posts by california */
var postCode="[googletest2]";
var td=document.getElementsByTagName("td"); var script=document.getElementById("googletest").innerHTML; if(location.href.match(/action=(display|goto|search2)/)){ for(i=0;i<td.length;i++){ if(td.className.match(/windowbg/) && td.width != "20%" && td.innerHTML.indexOf(postCode) != -1){ td.innerHTML=td.innerHTML.replace(postCode,script); } } } // --> </script> |
Again following the instruction above, open a new thread or post and type: [googletest2] (If you changed googletest2 to something else, type this instead) Then save the posting. The result will be: Google is watching you

dropbox.comMad introduced the forum to dropbox.com. After uploading, Drag a file to a special box, and it immediately is online. Right click and copy the file to the clipboard. The site holds a maximum of 2 GB of files maximum per upload 400MB (I believe). Best of all, there is no expiration date on these files. It is that easy. Three modders already have uploaded. Gyazo.comGyazo.com is something I introduced the forum to, in two clicks an screenshot is uploaded to the internet, ready to post. Tom and I use it a lot.
