I'm willing to learn to do this; I would like to know if it's possible. I want to make Dead Rising a more challenging experience.
My idea is either 1 or 2 things.
I want to limit the rate of the leveling up system. Even "tricking" the system into making it like you need to get 2 million PP to level up. - I know it may not be possible to change how you unlock certain skills, but I want to make leveling up a more arduous process to make the game more difficult. -For me personally, playing the game with Frank running slowly, limited item space and 4 blocks of health is a lot of fun. Hell, I'd even try beating the game just with a level 1 Frank.
Idea 2
Limit the cooldown on the zombie's grab. -Similar to how TGS was. The zombies were ravenous and posed a great threat. I'd like to change this to make it harder.
I know these changes may not be necessary or welcomed by some, but it's something that I'd be willing to work on if I knew the direction to go in.

I can't help you too much with the cooldown of the zombie's grab (ask Stipo for that) but I can advise you for the limited PP.
My suggestion is simply to use Cheat Engine (granted if you know how to use it) and lock the PP to 0.
That way, no matter what you do, the level you have will always be 1.

Do you think using Cheat Engine would result in a VAC ban? It would be weird for that to happen since it's a single player game right?

I dunno. All I know is that I'm using a pirated copy so it doesn't really matter to me.

right. did a quick search, seems like ill be okay since it's not a VAC game. and i managed to use a pre-done cheat engine hack to freeze my level at level 2 xD Unfortunately it makes the game unstable and crashes. i've used cheat engine before in the past but never on a AAA game, just flash games

Let me explain. Multiplayer games that use the Source 1/2 engine automatically have a system called Vac-Secured in a created server. People can remove this that allows people to cheat and get away from the vac-ban. You have to edit the exe since your stats are tied to levels which are hardcoded to exe. spvv explains it well in this thread: deadrising2mods.proboards.com/thread/2652/chuck-skillmoves

I just lock my level to level 7 when Frank has limited skills, 6 blocks of health and a few inventory spots. Still gives a bit of a challenge.
