I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this in, so pardon me if I messed up.
People seem to be more drawn to Dead Rising 1 modding than any of the other Dead Rising games. My theory on this is that people generally just like Dead Rising 1 more. Sure, it has less features than the other games, but it still remains a strong fan favorite by many people. The only big obstacle in the way of a large modding community spawning is the difficult technical aspects of it. It's not very easy to get into (especially now that not everything has been discovered yet).
If modding were to somehow become easier to do, then of course a lot of people would join in. No doubt. Every blue moon you'll see someone post something in the Dead Rising 2 sections, but it's rarely anything in terms of mod releases or tutorials. It's almost always modding questions or mod requests. However, in the DR1 sections we've seen a few people (including yours truly) create threads with all of their mod releases listed.
There's a lot of potential here. The only problem is piecing together the 9000 piece puzzle that is Dead Rising modding.

I see it the other way around, SWEGTA. I might not be able to play the game (right now) but I can see a different picture here. For one, the Dead Rising 2 (and Off The Record) and Dead Rising 3 aren't really being modded at the moment since we've already modded all we could in those games already. (Don't believe me? Then just check the amount of threads those games have compared to this one.) (In other words, people already made mods back 5 years ago for Dead Rising 2 to begin with. Now, they're just asking for mod tutorials or a new mod release (Since the old mod may not work with a pirated copy; I've seen it happen before with other games, just not this game.) As for potential, yes, this game does have GREAT potential in any form or shape. But, the real reason I believe that Dead Rising 1 isn't exactly having more people drawn to it are 2 things: a lack of advertising/interest and the mods themselves (I'm not saying anything bad about them, just listen.) Lack of Advertising/InterestSimply put, as much as I hate saying this, I just don't feel that we have enough support coming in to have a wide amount of mods both left to right. (In other words, when I look at the general modding discussion at Dead Rising 2, I see that there are as many threads right up to the ninth page. Over here, not so much... (Of course, we can't forget that this PC Port only came out a few weeks ago, too (as of 9/24/2016)but still.)). The Mods Themselves
Now, I'm not trying to say anything bad about these mods but I feel that they're a huge far cry than the mods for Dead Rising 2 (and yes, I did read your post, SWEGTA, however the mods I'm seeing here (and the ones I'm requesting) shouldn't been THAT HARD to make, are they?) (Link: deadrising2mods.proboards.com/thread/2491/request-timer-modifier-more-zombies ) In summary, the best way I can explain is this: Half of all mods I have seen are all texture mods (They're not bad, rather, they're actually pretty superb for their quality.) and the other half are mods that just go all over the place (such as Pre-E3 Hair, then to respawning food items in Infinity Mode). (In other words, there is no actual plan to make "practical" mods here since most of the time I just see texture mods, that's it. Where's the mod to add more zombies or where 's the mod to adjust the timer here?)

Good points.
But as you said, the PC port didn't come out until very recently. So in order to have a blooming community appear, we'll need to give it a fair amount of time before that ever happens. As for advertising I feel like Stipo and I could at the very least try to lead some people over here. Most of my viewers are only interested in Bully, but it wouldn't hurt to try and recruit some new people.
I know a few people who are very interested in Dead Rising 1 modding, but have yet to make an account here.

I'll weigh in on this. It's true dr2 and otr got modded as far as they could, cause even then we were limited, dr3 is even mroe limited as not everyone shows a lot of interest for that title. DR1 has only been out since the 13th of september. So it's been literally 12 days now and considering what we have achieved so far is pretty darn good. But it needs time. Things that are simple to do in dr2-3 arn't as simple to do in DR1. Like timer related stuff, extending cases. This is literally due to how the files are set up. They are as annoying on 360 as they are on the port to PC. So I'd literally give it time and everyone advertise where they can. Also the mods again are good for what we can do right now. Literally to name the things we can do are, model swap with kane's tool to unpack and repack arcs which I believe he is releasing soon, texture editing which even though it isn't much, is good as it was done a week after the game's release as was Kane's tool and item placements. Now obviously these are very basic things, but are good for a game which is 12 days old after it's pc release. So it's just a literal case of "give it time and we'll see what happens".

I hate to be an A** on this one, but are you actually telling me that you can't use cheat engine and test the speedhack right now?
Shouldn't that be a basic thing to begin with?
