Simple Packer/Unpacker GUI

Hey all,

Worked on a simple GUI for Gibbed and Kane's tools in an effort to be more user friendly/easier for newcomers.

Included is everything you need to Pack and Unpack Big files, Bin Files, and Txt files. Just extract and test it out. I was initially looking for a quicker way to pack a txt file into a bin file with just a click then open the game to test without needing a few windows open, but then it just grew. Its great for quick and easy unpacking, editing, and packing without evening needing the DR directories open.

I only tested it with DR3 but it was able to pack and unpack big/bin files and pack folders into .big files. but I'm the only one who has tried it and it wasn't for DR2 or OTR cause I don't have those installed anymore.

Let me know what you think. It also have a backup file feature that I may or may not develop more.

.Bin does not work for unpack and pack.

you sure? that should have been the easiest one. You unpack the Bin, but then you have to pack the text file that it created.

Hmmm...... oh it already fixed.

Maybe it doesn't work on me because i could have done something wrong.

Hi, it seems this GUI cannot be downloaded from OneDrive due to:

Yea, I only use OneDrive because the links don't expire and its easy to use/modify. I promise there's no virus, you can try turning off your anti-virus or use a different browser.

is there an updated version of this? I downloaded it and ran the unpack which worked. Was able to edit controls.bin but whenever I pack the file, the game wont load the controls. I tested it out by just unpacking then repacking the original file, and it wont let me use controls. So there is something going on with the repacking of this

This shouldn't alter the controls file at all, not sure why that would happen

Modding Dead Rising 3 with this tool. It mostly works! Running into an issue with repacks not working though. To make sure it wasn't user error, I unpacked music.big and then repacked it without changing anything. The game doesn't load any music after doing that.

Update: The repacked file size is 1kb smaller than the original. I checked both .big files with a hex editor. Tons of stuff is the same, but there are little differences scattered all over. Wish I knew why, so I could finish this mod I'm doing.

Update: The problem only appears to occur on music.big. It works with other .big files I have tested. Kind of a shame. Custom music would be fun.
