Been a while since I showed up around here, so apologies to gone underground for long.
As DR2 and OTR has been ported to Steamworks, it seems they added some new ways to actually import your models without the need of opening the npcs big file, but a little help will be appreciated to improve the method. Ill try to explain the best I can, because I am still messing with it.
1-You need to own at least one of the released DLC. I suggest the cyborg skills pack.
2-Run the game and wear the entire outfit, then save.
4-Travel to your dead rising 2 OTR folder and inside the data folder, there should be a new folder called "dlc".
5-There should be 4 folders with numbers inside that "dlc" folder, each one is a separated DLC including the outfits, find the one you purchased and make a backup copy.
6-Rename the files of the model you want to use with the name of the models inside the folder and overwrite, then run the game.
Here is the result using Freako's Dead Rising Frank:
I used the Cyborg skills pack in there because it is the one that has many of the available slots. The only problems so far is it seems the interior torso doesnt show because maybe I forgot to add it or not in the right place while renaming and it has the cyborg sounds and effects, but modifying the datafile should do the trick.
Also it seems the files got "damaged" if you try to access them if you are not wearing the outfit before doing this, making unable to wear the outfit.
Maybe with a bit more of research could be possible to create your own dlc's and add them?
The original DR2 has this aswell, maybe this method can work too, cant check it because dont have those dlc, so anyone else can try and reply here or in the DR2 section?
