STOP TIME MODBY TOMMAHThanks to Wapedell for doing a lot of the grunt work. This Mod stops the Game Time where ever you are in the game, time just simply won't progress. THIS IS FOR NORMAL MODE ONLY. Let me know if people actually want this for other modes as well. DOWNLOAD1. Backup your files 2. Download "No Time" 3. Place into \data\gamemodes\ 4. Replace existing files

You're awesome man. I was on the 5th chapter with less that one day left, and a couple of sidequest to do, and this mod will be my salvation LOL. But i have a question: when you say that the time won't progress, are you meaning only to the "time counter" of the game, I mean, the days remaining, or also freezes the day-night cycle, freezing the time completly? I'm gonna test it as soon as i can P.S: Can you do the same mod for DR2? because all the versions that i found, doesn't work anymore

freezes time completely, for instance my game stayed 6:24pm for about an hour. I may work on an infinite mode type Time Mod to keep the day/night cycle... but for now, this will help people.
PM me about mod requests, not here pleasies

We still get side missions using this mod, or are they tied in with timing?
Either way, I'll be using this.

side missions PROBABLY won't progress because the start of side missions is directly tied to the game time

Yeah, I just ran a test of it- I've been 'waiting' for Rhonda to fix that damn tv for hours upon hours now. Good news is I managed to collect a few more collectibles because of it. I forgot to backup my file so I can't progress now xD
Edit- I was also able to test the effect on a side mission- what you said is proven true, The motel side quest didn't lose any time at all, so I was able to do it at my leisure rather than feel like I was rushing through the whole thing.

*thumbs up* good to hear... we don't have any debugging tools so its hard to test at the moment. Glad its working as planned. Next step is day/night cycle.

The reason I wanted to stop the time was for side quests loooooool. If you find a way to make it so I still can, I will use this

I was thinking of doing the opposite, which would be to reduce the time back to the oldschool 3 days. I am one of those rare people that actually like the game, but it lacks any difficulty without the time limit.
Since you found the way to stop the time, would there be any way to make the time pass faster? Not as fast as nightmare mode, that's less than 3 days by other games standards, which I do not think is fair(and bullet sponge enemies are boring). In Dr1, each day equaled 2 real time hours, if I remember correctly, so that times 3 would be fair. I don't think simply skipping to day 3 would work, that would break the in game missions, I think

Tommah doesn't mod DR any more these days. Or visits the forums much any more as he is doing new things. If you wanna achieve what you want. You'd have to do a bit of research in to what was done here and try to do the opposite.

Thought as much. Not a fan of wasting a day or two messing around with it, but I guess it's worth it
Edit: Looks like this is much easier than it looks.
Look for the second Time Scalar within the Game Modes txt file. The one with 4 impacts Nightmare Mode, which goes 4 times faster. In the modded game file, it is zero, hence, time is frozen. When set to 1, you have 6 proper days, so if you want the time to go twice as fast, you simply type in 2. Edit the gamefile from download from 0 to 2 or whatever you want, this is not even worth a release

hmmmm so there is no removal mod at all? i would love harder zombies but no timer or an extended timer with normal day/night cycle. the timer here seems broken in DR3, in DR2 i had MUCH more time to free roam, help survivors etc. here it seems you can 90% rush the main missions only.... bad balanced and not good at all. would love normal mode with harder zombies and save restrictions (ok i dont need to use it in the menu) but the zombies are too easy and the game is too easy on normal.
