I didn't go as far as editing anything, just a simple removal of 5/6 files to remove the hud for aesthetic/screenshots purposes. Location: DATA\UI\DR3Main\Screen Remove: Hud_minimap.bin Hud_overlay.bin Hud_player.bin hud_inventory_radial.bin hud_pp_level.bin Note: You cant craft in your inventory but you can use a safe house to get already crafted items as well as clothes. You can still combine vehicles like normal just no prompt for them like doors ect. hud_npc.bin : You can remove this if you don't want survivors or followers name to come up if you roll with a possy. hud_reticle.bin: Remove for cross-hairs thou it isn't that big of a deal. Edit: Add'ed a batch file below, so you don't have to drag and drop/ backup anything.

You can also leave the hud_inventory_radial.bin alone if you want to craft in your inventory but the weapon icon stays if you fight with the weapon. It will fade thou if you don't touch it or use a weapon. Now I just need to stop being lazy and make a batch file for this. Edit: Here's a batch file for everyone who's as lazy as me, just unrar it and follow the read me. Also Included the bin files for the hell of it.

You both made me laught, I've never tought of "modding by deleting" It's not that hard to mod the files as I managed to remove the item etiquettes without removing the icon by editing hud_overlays.bin, as can be seen in this image I intent of keep doing this selective cleaning when I have more time, like leaving the health bar but removing PP bar, zombie count and book icon, maybe making the inventory wheel just pretty transparent instead of removing it, or maybe make it smaller. But it takes a lot of time to do trial and error due to loading times, and I could notice that stuff in bin files doesn't have a name, instead have numbers called HashNames. So I have to ask anyone with experience modding these engine, is there some dictionary to translate these hashes?

Well, its not really deleting, just removing the selected files.
It really doesn't matter considering you still have to remove files or edit them to get rid of the hud.
That's why I made the batch file so you just click it on and off with no hassle (editing them while it is easy is a waste of time), plus I'm working on turning it on and off as a overlay in game so you don't have to edit any files.
Thou it is Sorta funny that you would edit this when you can do a simple removal, especially considering that leaving "selected" icons or "health bar" is just going to be shown in the picture. mainly the purpose of this is to remove everything on screen to take a clear screenshot, really just more work for nothing but to each there own.

Throw me off that you where concerned because you weren't able to craft stuff, so I thought you intended to play like this. I want to clean the hud while keeping the game playable

I don't know how that threw you off or that I was concerned about anything but the game is completely playable like this. If you want to craft in game with no hud simply leave the hud_inventory_radial.bin alone. The only problem I mentioned was that it will pop up if you use the weapon, if you want to do something then you can just edit the bin file and remove the bg icon/gun icon * hash location for the bg icon are in the ui folder under hud.txt, unpack them and just open the bct files* Otherwise that's pretty much it.

A lot more simple than DR2 and OTR where we had to literally go in to the frontend.big and edit the hud to be turned off and then pack it all back up again. Plus those shots without the hud looking stunning.

If you can get some shots like that with the mods and model swaps we have going now. That'd be great. I need to update the DR3 part of the site's banner anyway.

Thank you madam. Hoping that is the right thing to call you considering the gender you have on your avatar. Most seem to press the wrong gender option in the past. XD
