Hey, its me again, Uncle Spoods, glad to be back after so long, i forgot the log in info to my main acc so i made a new one. Anyways i got this modded items.txt mod, and apparently when i run my game it crashes, so can someone please attach an unmodded datafile.big file? Thanks! and if I posted this in the wrong thread, any administrators out there feel free to move this to the correct thread as i dont know where to put this.
*UPDATE* My datafile needs are fulfilled, but when i would modify my datafile.big, the game crashes on load up, i remember having this same issue on my old pc the first week i got the game, but i do not remember how i fixed it, so if anyone knows how to fix my issue, then please feel free to post it below!

I don't know what it may be D: I never had that issue, though it may be the fact that gibbed is not running in administrator rights; your game folder doesn't have the rights to be edited, aka it's in lecture mode... and there is also some strange issue, it may be the one you have: Gibbed doesn't extract or half-extract the stuff from .big files. The fix i know is that you have to copy the .big file somewhere else, like in your desktop, extract, edit and repack, then copy the new .big file to the game folder... It can be anything... Which OS are you running?; are you sure you didn't downloaded a mod for DR2?; you renamed the extracted folder to the original_name.big? *Edit* I have an idea of what your problem may be. Try to run the game without modding it, vanilla. If it crashes, then it may be the sound the one that is giving you trouble. If it is, try this: Sound fix

Me- Well, hmm, should i start running it as administrator, and how can i get rid of leecture mode? Are you saying that the datafile.big files are not fully extracting? And i just copy and pasted the unmodded download back up from this website to a folder if thats what you mean..Which OS are you running?; are you sure you didn't downloaded a mod for DR2?; you renamed the extracted folder to the original_name.big? Me-I did not download anything like any mods, or atleast this items.txt that i got rid of, and i just replaced my data.big that was modded (all i did was put the sixshooter in safehouse) and used the what i believe was unmodded data.big from this website and still crashes on capcom screen. So am i missing any files perhaps?

Me- I just ran the game vanilla, or thats what i believe, and it still crashed on load screen, i saw the audio settings it told me to set it to and i had them on. So its definitely not the sound.

So its definitely not the sound.Even with it being vanilla it crashes? Then it has to be something with your game. If it's not the sound issue (Which most of the time it is), it may be gfwl, try to install the latest version (if it's not a skydrow version, if it is, try to get a new .exe and .dll files from skydrow); if its a Steam version, try to repair your files by using it. Try again the sound fix, maybe you didn't save it: Check your crash report from the game and see if it is not the sound issue: Another fixThe last link also have some other fixes, try them. The possibility of gibbed not extracting the files it's discarded, why? because the game is crashing in vanilla, so there is no issue in there. Therefore, installing mods shouldn't be the issue that made your game crash. The only thing i can think of that is making your game crash is the sound issue, i had it two times with both games, and is very common to get it in the game. See if the last link help, if not, try to repair your game by downloading it (If it's skydrow), or Steam if you got it from there.

My version was from nosteam.ro i think, so it is not gfwl or steam, i am going to delete the game and reinstall it. thank alot, and i checked my audio settings and they were already at the settings they told me to set it to. im going to update this reply with the results.
*RESULTS UPDATE*
Vanilla: - game worked -got past loading screen
Moddified with Gibbed: -it now functions! - all i moddified was putting the six shooter in safehouse
Here is what i noticed- Apparently the datafile.big i got from here had only 2k kb, while the datafile.big i got from reinstalling the game had 5k kb, so there was definitely some missing files in there, so thanks!

What, really? Skydrive and Dropbox links for datafile.big are 5MBs... The important thing is that your game is playable again
