Bike repair room at very beginning of Dead Rising 2 found

It is below and to the right of the arena.

Nothing in the room can be grabbed. It is only accessible with debug mode.

This means that every location in the cutscenes has a location. Can anyone think of a cutscene which does not have a easily identified location?

It would be so cool if case zero locations were buried.

There is a paradise plaza and food court dead rising file in datafile.big, but so far, no one has figured out what these two files do. All they are is location files.

Interesting find anno1404, this means that the cutscenes are created using the actual game environment rather than a separate high-resolution set of models like many games (and is backed up by the fact that the cutscene Chuck is dressed in whatever outfit he's wearing during gameplay).

That means any setting in any cutscene should be in the game somewhere- including items in the backgrounds and possible characters there as well.

I have thought a lot about this since I found this room, and I can't think of another cutscene which is not already in a well known location.

data/cinematics/cinematics.big has all of the games cutscenes, in txt format, with all the instructions in the videos. The only exceptions are a handful of cutscenes which are .bik video files. (they maybe in that folder too -- not sure)

The best example of how these text files work is the elevator cutscene, which I write in detail about. Because of this video's text file, I am able to figure out every victim in the video.

This means we could make our own videos ourselves.

You bring up a good point about that elevator cutscene- although I have not made it very far through the game (still modding and discovering), yesterday I was in a hurry to make the first save point. During the elevator scene, and the scene where Chuck carries Katey through the mall, there are survivors that die here and there. However, in trying to make time, at one point I ran through two survivors who were waving at me and 3/4 life bars appeared. Unfortunately I ran right by them and opened the door for the cutscene into the bunker (and then there's no backing up to get them, the following scene runs Chuck and Katey into the bunker).

Looking back I started to wonder if I could have pulled them as survivors had I called them to follow me....? Would they have been included in the following cutscene where Chuck takes Katey to safety? Then would they contribute to the game somehow?

And on that matter timewise is it possible to save anybody from the elevator scene (even though they all die rather quickly into that screen).

No you cannot save any survivors. It is just like dead rising 1.

Video below at minute 2:11 has the bike repair room. Granted, the only reason I made this video is to get coordinates of locations, so it is not very good, but I figured this video would show the room a little better than just pictures.



Regarding dead rising 1, I have screenshots of leading two of the survivors in the entrance plaza up to the second floor, but they are still shown as dead in your notebook, and never seen again.
