Here are notes from converstations between myself and Tommah: (Right now this thread is a placeholder for future development coming soon.)
djmas314: my dream idea is to have lots of npc's spawned around the city fight zombies
thetommah: I mapped out a basic mission structure some where... I thought I posted it, but if I didn't I may have just put it into notes

hetommah: I've spawned mission items
djmas314: damn what about spawn survivors in dr3
thetommah: should work the same as DR@2
thetommah: mission structure is a little more confusing
thetommah: but its mostly the same
djmas314:my problem is the issue of not being able to recruit survivors
without saving them first
djmas314: have you ever tried spawning npc's

thetommah: but I guess I don't know if the whole saving thing changes it
djmas314: so my request would be two parts
djmas314: first part you said notsure if possible, which is being able to add recruitable survivors without having to save them first
djmas314: the second part is can we spawn npc's that roam the city in auto scavange mode
djmas314: like when you tell recrutiable survivors to go find food
djmas314: do u think the second part is possible
thetommah: not auto-roam
thetommah: best case scenerio you map out a route for them to roam the map
djmas314: thats still ok
thetommah: lots of work, especially without a real player locator
thetommah: hard to get coordinates
thetommah: you should be able to add survivors without having to save them first
djmas314: couldnt you use the corrodinates of current mission npcs as markers
thetommah: fighting zombies is easy cause its an AI behaviour already in the game
thetommah: its basically; scared, normal, aggressive options
djmas314: awesome this might be a great new mod to work on after i post the BBM
djmas314: what attribute controls when they scavange for food or not
thetommah: no idea
thetommah: I don't think that's data you can change
thetommah: MAYBE... but I don't think so
djmas314: if we find that and can spawn unlimited npc's then we could make a living city in DR3 does that seem possible
thetommah: I suppose... would be even more resource heavy than the game already is
djmas314: say there is a resource limit even if they cant spawn all at once as some die others would be able spawn
thetommah: they would probably spawn when you leave the area and come back
thetommah: based on how the others' worked

djmas314: from what we have discussed can you see anything that would keep a living city from being possible
djmas314: in DR3
thetommah: depends on your definitely of "living"
thetommah: can you take out zombies and place npcs in?
thetommah: yea
thetommah: can you give npcs mundane tasks?
thetommah: nope
djmas314: i mean keep zombie
djmas314: but having living npcs that run around
thetommah: so have a ton of npcs and zombies that are constantly fighting each other?
