Survivors and psychos missions times extended, so when you get a call ,the mission will stay open for a very long time, the order of the survivors missions is rearranged . i stacked most the missions on the first 2 days so afterward you have more time to roam around, the cases and the get zombrex missions times are left unchanged . survivors missions open during the first zombrex mission . this includes all the survivors you don't get called about as well ,so if you missed some of them , now the opportunity to meet them will be open for very long time ,you just need to find them (not all spawn at the same time) . the mod also includes higher durability to most of the melee weapons and guns & vehicles ,easy money , unlimited durability skateboard ,and all kind of small tweaks here and there . the safe house have variety of weapons (of course) : the kitchen have unlimited supply of quickstep, painkiller, energizer and untouchable,and a wingman jar as well ,wingman durability also extended so they will last much longer . there are also cloths dispensers in the save room . this mod also includes inside allcases Safehouse Teleport mod , which adds in the safe house save room short cuts to: Atlantica, Slot Ranch,Yucatan Casino,Fortune City Arena. download : www.4shared.com/file/Gv8QeRkR/datafile.htmlupdate (details in second page ) version 1.1 download : www.4shared.com/file/JTcUBp1W/Anu_Mod_11.html

Awesome, you used my mod Yeah i was going to make it myself, but you did it before i got to it , so i just used yours, at later point i might edit the exit points , so thanks and keep up the good work , the debugger will be much more appreciated when we'll start to make heavy modification on the missions or try to create new ones . hey man pls make version 2 with you pick everytingh big weapons type plushie bear or minigun launcher pls the mod is call pocket everything you can already pocket both chainsaws , i might add some more in the next version ,not sure if i want that feature in this mod .

Does the dreaded 8 survivor rule apply? (the link explains the rule for Dead Rising in detail, but the same rule applies in Dead Rising 2)If not, that would be a great mod.

unfortunately yes , this rule seems to be "built in" into the game . it seems like only when you get rid of survivors by taking them to the safe house or killing them it opens the slot for new call to come in .
in this mod i tried to time it so calls timing will not collide .
on the same topic but unrelated to this mod, i also made some tests, timed all the missions to start at once ,and that lead to many missed calls, i cant yet understand exactly how the engine set the priority of one mission over the other ,for example you can set two calls to the same time, but the game will always pick one first before the other, psycho missions also seems to have higher priorities then survivors missions .

hey all the drinks have disappeared from the safe house around the time had to save the fat guy with the zombrex ... also im noticing after the first day there is only one survivor quest open no other survivors appear until that one survivor is rescued then taken to the safe house then the next one and only one appears.

hey all the drinks have disappeared from the safe house around the time had to save the fat guy with the zombrex ... the drinks (and any other food) disappear from the safe house after you save the guy from the hunger pain mission ,it's part of the mission script, but they return shortly after . also im noticing after the first day there is only one survivor quest open no other survivors appear until that one survivor is rescued then taken to the safe house then the next one and only one appears. have you checked the spots of the secret survivors ? check the tape or die mission location or the shopping spree mission locations , if you don't get any calls it usually means that there are survivors out there that you didn't find . i tested this myself before i released it , you can get all the calls and get all survivors , the only mission that is problematic is the snowflake mission that in this mod is right after the demand and supply mission and just before the fortune city botany club mission .

My game crashes whenever I enter the saferoom, either by loading a game or going there from either the start of a new game or from the mall.

weird, do you have any other mods installed ? i assume you backed up your original datafile before replacing it with the modded one ? maybe it was corrupted somehow ? maybe try to download again ,although i doubt it .
anyone else experienced a crash ? it never crashed on my side .

Yeah I backed up the original. Downloaded it again and it still crashes... No other mods installed.

well I'm glad you backed up the original file , sorry it didn't work for you, i have no idea why it might crash on your side but not on this side .

Is there a patch for the game out that I should install maybe? I really have no idea what I'm doing lol. there is a patch but i didn't patched,so no . it's really simple installation , you take the modded DataFile.BIG , and replace the original file at : C:\\Dead Rising 2\data folder , after you backed up the original of course. did you tried any other of the mods on this site with safe house/weapons modifications ? did it worked properly and you are experiencing problem only with this mod ? or this is your first attempt ? if you haven't tried any other mod that also uses the DataFile ,try one ,and see if it works , if not ,then you might doing something wrong . thanks for the quick response great mod btw. hope to see future updates. ^ ^ no problem man , feedback is always appreciated ,thanks for the replay .

ok so it's clear that you are not doing anything wrong , but i still have no idea what may cause it to crash on your end .
have you tried restarting the story when loading a save file, or you trying to play from the middle of the story ?

Awesome mod, loved it but ended up having to remove it because when playing with unmodded players, they'd have numerous problems in the safe house and the game would either boot them or me because of it. :/

interesting , that might explain why Bizarro Ted have crashes on the safe house , i never tested it online only in single player . well ,at least you can use it on single player when you are in the mood to break the monotony of playing with the original order of missions,that's why i did this mod , because after you finish the game 5 or 6 times and you know where and when everything is, it gets kind of monotonous . thanks for the feedback khandor . does anyone wants only the mission file ? so you can use only the different mission structure, without all the safehouse placements ? interesting to see which file exactly is the cause of this crash . www.4shared.com/document/eHdBc4J6/missions.htmlto use this you need to unpack whatever datafile you want to use , replace the original mission file with the one from the above link,repack ,put back in the data folder ,play .

small update : added a few bikes : 2 at the royal flush safe house exit, one of them is M249Bike the other one is normal bike ,but with the electricity effect , lets call it electric bike although it's just cosmetic change . img263.imageshack.us/i/bik1b.png/chainsaw bike at the entrance to the Americana casino and another chainsaw bike near the blue hamsterball : i also added the change i did to the first mission, Gordon and LaShawndra mission in the very beginning of the game , both gordon and LaShawndra are now snowflake . always thought snowflake didn't got enough screen time . but there is a small bug with one of them ,you need to advance toward the first one (the one that replace LaShawndra) slowly from the side ,exactly from this angle to be able to interact with it : if it moved then it's much more complicated ,you need to jump in a way that you will land inside the head of the snowflake model and press E or interaction button fast enough . the second tiger is responding normally though . enjoy . download link : www.4shared.com/file/JTcUBp1W/Anu_Mod_11.html

Not changing the Zombrex and Cases missions was a decision you made or you just weren't able to do it? And maybe you'll know, because you were able to mess around with the missions time... can you completly deactivate a mission?

Not changing the Zombrex and Cases missions was a decision you made or you just weren't able to do it? if you mean the times and lengths ,then it was my decision. if you mean actually rewrite the missions , nope ,couldn't do that when i made this mod . trying to figure out exactly how the syntax of the mission file works is not a easy task ,but it's possible i guess ,if you know what you are doing , i mostly found out what i know with lots of trail and error and some help from this forum,but lately i didn't had too much time for farther experimentation . And maybe you'll know, because you were able to mess around with the missions time... can you completly deactivate a mission? haven't tried it myself ,but i think it's entirely possible . sooner or later i will test it out ,was thinking to try and make a sort of "survival mod" in the spirit of the first dead rising game anyways and for that I'll need to remove all missions as well .

The best way to avoid this situation : when you start a new game immediately get out of of the safe house and head outside ,not long after that you should start getting the messages ,after you get the first few messages head back to the safe house and take what you want from there . the snowflake mission in this mod is right after the demand and supply mission and just before the fortune city botany club mission . i moved it ,so it's in later stages of the game and not in it's original time . and btw i released a pack of tigers mod if you like playing with snowflake at your side : deadrising2mods.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=dr2other&thread=516

Anu, could you possibly make a mod with just the durability and the missions? I would do it myself but when trying to pack the big file gibbed tools just crashes.

Do the tools crash or does it simply not pack, spouting out an error message? If the .xml file contains a link to a file that isn't there when you try to pack, gibbed tools won't pack it, though usually also showing which file is missing. //Update: As for the durability, I uploaded items.txt resp. the datafile.big containing unlimited (99999) durability for almost all items, except those that are bound to break (garbage cans, carton boxes, etc.). Including 99999 ammo and maximum ammo for spray weapons (hacker, etc.). Download here

I was thinking something like just double the durability, not sure what the values in anu's(ok so that looks odd) mod are though but max durability is a bit much. Plus its not just the timer increase Im looking for, rather the order of the survivor quests Im thinking of. Simply using the trainer doesnt really cut it, already using the trainer.
With the first version of the tools I got an error message saying that it did not have permission do to stuff even though I gave it all the rights, plus it crashed. With the second version(v 11) Im able to unpack, but packing just crashes without any error message at all.
