How to get the modding population back
|
How to revitalize the Mod Forum Newsletter is in progress by Taco and anno1404: Dead Rising Wiki:NewsletterOLD POSTOk, Everyone has been rightfully complaining about getting modders back. No one is really doing anything about it.
But I will make a suggestion, which ONE person, ONE dedicated person could do. Create a newsletter:
- Type up a newsletter.
- Post what you want in the newsletter here,
- Let the community tweak,
- I will email it out to EVERYONE
The newsletter can contain, new mods, new projects, new ideas, aspirations, etc.
The idea is that former members of this community will read this newsletter and say, hey, that is interesting, then click on the link and come back here.
If it is successful (and it will be) we can do it monthly or quarterly, or whatever. But we need someone to take charge and lead this project. And it isn't me. I can assist, but I don't want to lead.

After a month and a half, no response to this request. Anyone who whines about a drop in modding activity are going to be force recuited into doing this newsletter.

This sounds great, updating each month with what mods have been updated/created, new ideas or proyects, questions and requests, but this was two months ago, so...

I don´t know if is the best thing that i do it. I´m doing so much stuff right now that i can barely keep coming here sometimes. If someone is really going to do this it has to be someone who had time and who know about the comunity. There are just four people here doing something: Sol, Wes, you and me, you can ask Wes and Sol about this, maybe they can help. I´m just sorry for not being able to help right now.
*I was just giving ideas of how it can be maked, i didn´t really tought you would think that i should do it.*

Ah so I finally got to see this. Right I do have some questions in mind that could be put down. Do we post them here and whoever is working on the actual newsletter can put them in to the newsletter?

I suggest we post them here. As Wizard is only familiar with this format, not the wiki. Create a new post. Then I will contact Wizard and ask him to respond. Nice job Sol! thank you!

Well I got the questions thought out Anno. I'll post them here since it seems right. So here we go.
So Wizard how did you come to the decision of starting up a forum dedicated to the modding of the Dead Rising games on PC originally?
We're you hopeful in the modding forums taking off well?
(Add this if wizard does say is was hopeful) We're any of the admin team as hopeful as you was in the modding forums taking off well?
What has been your favourite mod so far on the modding forums?
What are your hopes now for the future of DR modding?
What is your favourite Dead Rising game so far and why?
What do you want to see happen in Dead Rising 3 the most when it comes out?
And that is all the questions I have got right now. Feel free to add to them before the newsletter is fully finished up.
