Great work on this project, Freako. I think I spent a good 20 minutes looking at the environments.
It's nice to actually walk around on ground level and see all of the detail Capcom's artists put into the town of Willamette. I like that you went the extra mile to add things like the mall music (as solidcal noted) and the fire at the Tornado Gas Station.
This is very convenient, especially considering how many hoops you usually have to jump through to view 3D game art. Ripping the models from the game, downloading plugins for your 3D app to view them, fixing screwed up texture assignments and UV coordinates... all that stuff.
I've gotta give you props for the easy installation, too. Once again, great work.
Just a note for anyone using RadeonPro - the UDK EXE won't run (comes up with an error about being unable to access DX9) unless you disable it.
so awesome freak! Shame you wont release, but I have no idea how much work goes into realeasing these areas -- probably a lot. I must have never added the environment pictures from noesis of the signs. deadrisingwiki.com/wiki/Mod:Dead_Rising_1_Models A hidden gem! thank you for finding this.
Is adding all of the items in each location difficult? Like one snack in the paradise plaza?
Second - any desire to release a tutorial on how you create these environments? I can even create a tutorial as I have many times before if you can walk me through the process.
The way I do it is very quick, and is not suitable if you were going to be using these maps in an actual game. I leave out all the lightning maps/shadow stuff/bump maps. I don't know how to add all that stuff.
