...Wait who's junk...? Also probably be easier to PM solidical... If there is a tutorial that Exists I would rather it be available to the public and not just in someone's Inbox. So if Solidcal were to write a tutorial this is the perfect place for it. I wasn't saying to have him get a PM and hide it in his evil lair forever I was just saying a PM usely stands out more than a few posts...

Internet is down at my apartment so I won't be posting updates or anything. Also I have starting knocking out missions/objectives already, so far it is looking really good (and pretty challenging). I'd say missions.txt is about 10% complete. Yeah my Internet provider is a dick sometimes too ._.

Heh, yea I lowered the impulse radius a little bit. It was pretty devastating as is. I have been working on the special Infected missions.txt templates since basically everything they do is determined in missions.txt. Now that the 4 Special Infected are in the game with a template I can just plug them into any mission. Now I need to start coming up with missions for each zone. If anyone has ideas or anything just post them here, I won't mention if I'm using it or not because I want it to be a mystery. Sorry didn't see that part

Though the whole car thing is interesting, I was thinking more along the lines of zone specific missions not an entire scenerio. Like what should I have players do in Americana Casino, for instance. I plan to make players go all around the map but need to come up with missions in each zone. I guess "Objectives" is a better word for what I'm looking for. *Edit* what do you guy think about activating the Gas Vents? not the Gas Zombies, just the gas. Good idea although check out post #124 (in case you didn't see it!).

The easiest thing is to modify the TK mission that has you run around that map getting stuff, no? He wants something totally new to make not just a copy and paste. Also back to that you could make it so that none of the cars work till you get them 2 or 3 containers of gas (I don't know make it so gas cans replace keys).

Yeah the boomer is a tough one I don't think there are any enemies who explode at any point...The only thing I can think that's even close to that is in One Hit Wonder when those hostages have bombs attached to the bottom of the tables you might want to check that out just in case. Success. And Etrius you were right on, that was exactly what I was working off of but couldn't get it to work. I then looked a postman explosion that is technically the same thing but has a more simple code to replicate. Here it is! Still working on it attracting more zombies though Nice!!! Can't wait to see this in action!!!

Got rid of needing Zombrex.... phew, I was actually worried about that one. Having problems with getting the Boomer to explode when killed, if anyone has any ideas let me know. The game will still have the gate open but nothing will be inside, I couldn't find the code for the actual gate. Nice tommah.

Well he wants to completely disable the pawn shops (if I understood correctly). Well yea, but what I'm asking is if he removed the mission entry entirely so no trace of it is left or if he just gutted the mission, meaning just deleting the mission's contents. Probably entirely since if it wasn't it would just confuse the player.

Still looking forward to it though. Hope that you'll release a BETA then work some more on it to make it even more awesome a BETA test will be released to MAYBE a select few. Actually there is only 1 cutscene in l4d1 which is the intro video the stuff you're talking about is ingame and just pretty much lets you see all survivors at beginning and lets you see (example) them flying away in a helicopter. Yea, that's kinda what I meant. Either way, Cutscenes aren't a big thing in the Left 4 Dead games so what's the point in putting time towards it in L4DR, ya know? Anyone else really care about cutscenes? Didn't mean to give the impression that I was agreeing with benjamin personally I think you should just focus on gameplay and etc.

"at LEAST"? you realize that's never been done before right? I'd be LUCKY to enter in new cutscenes. If you would like to look into that, by all means go for it but I'm not too worried about cutscenes since I'm the only one working on this and seeing as how L4D only has two cutscenes per scenerio, entering and exiting the level. or at least a video tutorial showing how to put a bunch of mods together even with the same file Just keep trying to put them together and look at the wiki and forums if you do that eventually you should be able to combine them...

ok i need someone who i can send a bunch of mods to so they can make me a datafile.big as i install mods all together and none of them show up please message me if you will or comment here please comment your skype so we can get contacted there where its easier Well as long as the mods don't share the same files/Affect the same thing (ie 2 different mods for how fast you run) also remember that not all mods are placed in the datafile make sure you know that if you're doing a model swap in goes in npcs.big . then it sounds easy unpack datafile put mod files in then pack datafile back up Yes and no... its really hard to tell without knowing what mods you want to combine. if a mod changes an item it uses items.txt, if it changes a mission it uses missions.txt, if it is just placing an item somewhere it uses that specific zone's .txt file (royal_flush.txt). If a mod is a model swap then it uses a completely different file instead of datafile.big, it uses npcs.big. So it really depends on what exactly you are trying to combine. You explained this so much better than me!
