Looks like awesome work. I found a Twins nude model on another site: (Obviously NSFW) actualgameplay.com/tag/dead-rising-2-nude-patch/I was wondering if you could whip up a short guide on how you did what you did(IE outfits), because after I get rolling and I finish lining up my computer(and get more familiar with the game), I'd like to do a similar all over patch using the nude or something similar as a base. Another interesting note, the nude I found has whole .tex files. It's an all inclusive tex replacement(I drug out the dds files and was playing with the makeup on one, I just love red lips and dark eye liner). Will be posting that in the relevant thread as well, actually, I see it made the 6 page nude request thread(the one with all the arguing, heh).

I was wondering if you could whip up a short guide on how you did what you did(IE outfits), because after I get rolling and I finish lining up my computer(and get more familiar with the game), I'd like to do a similar all over patch using the nude or something similar as a base. uhh, from what i can remember it's really simple. the .big files from the models, when unpacked seem to have defined what parts of the model to load by using the scenedescription file. you can modify it by using a hex editor. so for example, one of the models used is stacey's cutscene model, which replaces one of the hawaiiain shirt outfits. by removing the jacket sections from the list in the scenedescription file of her model, her jacket doesn't load. also i think i removed them from the bigfile.xml so the repacker doesn't repack them either (and to save space). they modeled the full shirt and arms underneath the jacket, so it works. also here's a voicepack for this that i made some time ago, it's actually in most of my videos but it's some minor thing anyways. it uses rebecca's survivor voices. you gotta unpack streamedassets.big and replace it's fx_main.big, and then repack. nothin' new instructions wise. www.mediafire.com/?7lllewb4cnu6lqsedit: there's some minor t-shirt edit and face edit i did around the same time as the voicepack that i'll put in this post once i re-install the game and get some screenshots of 'em.

I keep crashing when i run it on steam =.= these mods will not work with a legit game... (for me!) you have to copy the dr2 folder ad download a crack from tpb

Thanks for that Tab.
I'm still contemplating what I want to do or how much effort I want to sink into it. It looks to be no small task to really dig into files with a hex editor, so the effort is appreciated.
I was wondering if different characters heads would clip as badly in the shoulder/neck/back area(or the head hair), or if it wouldn't be easier cleaner to just be able to switch between various characters as a whole, and a slew of what other choices / options I'd want to include.
I like to start with a goal, but I find myself tiring of the game itself(I don't work in the winter so I play games obsessively), and may not go anywhere with it.
I'll have to put it on hold until after the holidays as well.
Hope you all enjoy yours!

you don't need a cracked game for any mods, i'm running off of steam and it works perfectly fine. you don't even need a crack period, the game doesn't have any kind of DRM other than games for windows live, and it doesn't check for CDs or anything.
actually it's not hunting down bits of code or anything. it's just a list, plain text and all. super simple.
i don't really remember what heads i tested other than europa's and rebecca's but from what i remember rebecca's head has a really weird placing and doesn't clip well with any other hairs, at all, which is a shame
also, turns out i don't have the shirt/face file anymore so uhh yeah

Im using Ambers or Crystals head I think, they work pretty much perfectly
On a side note, how much does your voicepack change? Is it just melee grunts or more?

oh wow hey, yeah it does. there's clipping issues on the neck area, but otherwise it works really well! almost all the hairs work now and stuff. so here's that version of it since it works better. www.mediafire.com/?dft11b3w2wexqpoedit: voice pack just changes the grunts and stuff, so yeah melee grunts, rolls, being attacked, jumping, climbing, etc. nothing like survivor calling or talky stuff. i think some of the drinking noises are also still chuck's? i didn't really replace much, i think.

1) The mods work regardless of the game's version number, as you won't modify the .exe.
2) If you are using Windows OS 64bit, the tools use to crash. Someone said an older version of Gibbed's works with 64bit, though I don't know which.
As for installation, look at the readme with the file:
Stacey Clothing Model Mod by Tab --
It's the exact same process as all the other model switches;
1. Extract the /data folder into the /dead rising 2 directory or folder, it should replace a default.big and a playerfullbody.big
2. Using gibbed's extraction/packing tools unpack your npcs.big found in the /data/models folder of your dead rising 2 directory. (it's a drag and drop operation, so just drag the npcs.big onto the unpacker exe)
3. Now place the rest of the files into the unpacked folder, replacing whatever needs to be replaced.
4. Repack the folder by dragging it onto the packer exe.
5. Rename the npcs_big.big to npcs.big and replace the same file found in the /models folder.
There's some major clipping and stuff, but whatever. No biggie.
Pretty much every single clothing, hair/head, and shoe item change something now. Except the TIR T-Shirts.
Outfits are still outfits, hats/head stuff are accessories, and shoes are hairstyles.

Nice to see a new face.Seems everyone is already helping you. Also if you have a question about the modding of DR2 or OTR it goes in the general modding discussion in the DR2 boards and the OTR boards.Just some advise for you the next time you ask for help or have a question.
