Anyone know how to mod to remove the HUD guide arrow permanently? We have been able to remove the rest of the HUD and the green "Local Player Pos"But I am unable to remove the arrow key that points to cases and missions. Any suggestions on what I should modify?

Not a mod, just go to this folder: yourdeadrising2installdirectory\data\models\special\ and change the name of either of these two files to whatever the hell you want: guide_arrow.big or both guide_arrow.big and guide_arrow.tex, it has the same effect. The guide arrow ingame is gone. The bad thing is there will be a "black stain" remaining, which was behind and surrounded the arrow. But don't worry... you can make that go away with other "remove hud" mod I've seen: deadrising2mods.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=dr2other&action=display&thread=165Why change the name and not just delete it? As ubtri says in the very first comment to this thread, to still have the file just in case you ever want the arrow back. A backup would work just the same. Enjoy not seeing that guide arrow!

Hi I just wanted to recommend that people rename those files so the game cannot find them instead of delete them... Just in case you want to do missions ever again with directions

I found just putting a Zombrex Case onto my watch to get rid of it works, but I suppose if you want to film a mission or something this is good.

Yeah, put it there exactly for the people who wanna film the game. The thing with the method you use is that a certain time it appears, the time is running out. This way you will never see the arrow again.

notld, nice job! You even quoted my solution! Thank you! UPDATE: Changing the name of guide_arrow.tex ONLY creates a black arrow, which makes sense, because this is a texture file. screenshot:

Just read your comment now, I haven't entered the forum in a while. Thanks for the update, I'll change it.
