Hey all, Worked on a simple GUI for Gibbed and Kane's tools in an effort to be more user friendly/easier for newcomers. Included is everything you need to Pack and Unpack Big files, Bin Files, and Txt files. Just extract and test it out. I was initially looking for a quicker way to pack a txt file into a bin file with just a click then open the game to test without needing a few windows open, but then it just grew. Its great for quick and easy unpacking, editing, and packing without evening needing the DR directories open. I only tested it with DR3 but it was able to pack and unpack big/bin files and pack folders into .big files. but I'm the only one who has tried it and it wasn't for DR2 or OTR cause I don't have those installed anymore. Let me know what you think. It also have a backup file feature that I may or may not develop more. DOWNLOAD*Update v1.2* -Changed "unpack" to "open" and added support for opening txt files for editing. -Fixed bug that didn't kill process when gui closed. -Added Taskbar support.
*I in no way take credit for the actual tools, they were made by much sexier men*

Just gave it a go. Nice job, man. It could use a bit of tweaking, but this is way more compact and easy-to-use in comparison to just using the gibbtools. Definitely going to be using this a lot in the future.

glad you enjoyed it, I just hated always going back and forth and wanted one all-in-one tool.

I've never tried to mod DR2 before, but I can't play it...makes me sick. So I'm hoping the FOV fixes it. HOwever, when I try to repack the _big folder, it says your program crashes, and it doesn't work I was still able to do it manually though.

This is a great little tool! Unpacking works fine, but packing a _big folder crashes in Win10 (the crash occurs within Gibbed.DeadRising2.Pack.exe).

Thanks for the reviews, guys. I'm not sure why its crashing on you, all the same rules for the Gibbed Tools still apply; i.e. putting everything on the desktop for unpack and packing has worked for some (I've never needed to do that so I can't weigh in).
I don't remember if I've tried it on Win10 as I made it in Win7, I'll getting around to it soon.

Very nice tommeh! Very simplistic and easy-on-the-go usage. It's a very nice program for everyone out there who likes simple programs! Good job!

odds are the tool failed to pack due to incorrect editting of files inside the .big file. That's the only time I've ever seen a crash.

Those are variables of the directory/file that were selected in the app. Its strange, I'm assuming the crash is due to the "Dead Rising 2\\Data", there shouldn't be two \'s there (unless you changed something). I've never seen this before, I'll look around to see if I still have the source code on my pc.

Lel Ok now for something on topic, I finished modifying datafile.big but i cannot pack it back into a .big file again. What is going wrong? Do i need to delete/move the original datafile.big?

There were some empty files, I just don't remember which ones actualy were.

My solution was to rename the "datafile_big" folder to something else, then the packer works. Running this and doing it on Windows 10 works just fine
