Hi there.
If you're meaning the super melee attacks, I'm going to give this a very generic and highly questionable answer:
I assume they found the files pertaining to the force, strength and other variables of specific or general attacks and edited it as they saw fit.

This is coded in items.txt You would need to look out for the ability in that file, and change some lines to increase the range of the ability.

I was wrong, to change the radius of effect, you need to go to sgraph.txt, find the ability you want to edit, and change some lines. "sgraph.txt, is located in the data/datafile.big file. sgraph.txt is focused on effects, animation events, and flags. sgraph.txt is huge, 7.902 MB, 9632 pages in Microsoft Word..." Take a look at how to do it
