Posting this here for future reference, as not everyone will read my thread complaining about the face blurring.
I was screwing around with the exe and found ways to disable these awful filters that ruin my eyesight.
DISABLE DEPTH OF FIELD BLUR: Open the exe up in a hex editor and do a search and replace. Change all instances of "gDOF" to "xDOF". This removes the awful screen blurring without interfering with the motion blur (which can be disabled in options).
DISABLE VIGNETTE: The vignette is the dimmed corners of the screen. Open the exe up in a hex editor and do a search and replace. Change all instances of "gVignette" to "xVignette". The screen corners will now be clear.
DISABLE LUMINANCE VARIATION: Luminance variation is the random dimming of the screen. Open the exe up in a hex editor and do a search and replace. Change all instances of "mDesiredLuminance" to "xDesiredLuminance". The screen will stay consistently bright and clear.
If a search doesn't turn up any results, then an unpacked EXE or a No-DVD exe may be required. I've tested these three modifications past the intro and against the clown boss without issues.

Hmmn. This might possibly help performance on my laptop and I shall give it a shot once I fix the damn thing.

I have a quick question do your hex edits take place in a legit exe version or a cracked (skidrow) version?
If they are in the non cracked version of deadrising2otr.exe I would like to ask what exactly you are doing to not make it crash since any time I've tried on the non cracked version to do hex edits off OTR it always crashes the game even if I change the name of the exe only to something like DR2OTR.exe it will detect the change and CTD.
The only version that seems to accept hex edits is the cracked version which I do not feel so safe running just to get some settings that are not available in the original game.

I'm using the cracked exe. I think it's sad that we have to hack games for simple visual options that used to be easily modified via in-game menus.
There may be other ways than modifying the exe, perhaps by searching through all the files for "gDOF", "gVignette" and "mDesiredLuminance". I did try disabling DOF by modifying the camera.txt, but that didn't work.

okay i hate how no one replies... Not everybody is able to help you know.Plus the modding community is very small these days.So you'll have to forgive everyone seeing as not many people understand the modding. Now heres my advise to help you. This method only works with the skidrow version apparantley as you may know. And not many people here have a cracked version. They mostly get the legal versions now.And all I can suggest to remove lag is learning about the datafile.big and delete some items in the areas of the game that spawn and may cause lag, learn how to reduce or basically remove all the zombies from the game.It may not help a lot but thats all I know right now.

i think it is the resources used by the game cos on a gtx 550 Ti it works much better than a brand new but shoddy intel dedicated graphs card

i think it is the resources used by the game cos on a gtx 550 Ti it works much better than a brand new but shoddy intel dedicated graphs card "newness" of a graphics card doesn't really matter if it's from 2008-now. At the end of the day it's the power of it that matters. You'll never be able to compare an intel card to nvidia card.

I also need the "fixed" exe. it makes me furious that i can run dead rising 2 60fps but otr tuns 5fps because of a retarded and useless effect. (if that's the case) does no-one really have it? i am aware this is 1 year old. Do you want the OTR skydrow exe? I'm not going to post the page from where i get it, just the file: HereI'm sorry everyone, i deleted my own thread and made the most ridicilous mistake ever. it was running on integrated by default. Thank you anyways, i didn't expect to get answered immediatly, from some threads i thought this site wasn't all that active. sorry again
