Is it possible to swap an objects animation with that of another object?
I am attempting to make a Machete have the same attack animation of the Bowie Knife, but when I try to do it Chuck freezes up for the standard duration of the animation.

It is possible, but there are a lot of things you need to change. Obviously your looking in items.txt. When Ive changed things like this ive copied the first 'actionbutton' line all the way up to the last 'animationattackname' from one object to another. Make sure you have it looking in the right anim bank by copying the 'animbankname' as well. Also ensure you have as many 'attackaudioasset's and 'attackdamage's as you have attacks. Copy all the 'comboblend...' parts as well and also the 'effecton...' parts. You can change the hit reactions as well but i think in your case they should be similar, just make sure you have enough of them. Finally, copy the 'required' and 'resetcombo' parts, and also the 'impulse' bits. If I explained it well enough that should work. Its how I changed the flashlights attacks to the swords attacks. The only thing I cnat figure out is how to mix attacks from two differant animbanks. it perplexes meh  |

Works incredibly  . But I have one question, I am replacing chainsaw for bowie knife. How could I change the range/spread of the chainsaw after I replaced its animations with bowie knife? When I kill large mobs of zombies, it seems to spread more than the bowie knife, but it doesn't seem to hit as much as it could of before I changed its animations. |
