i appreciate your willingness to help :)

I actually decided to send out an email to everyone, just a brief three line blurb and got one response back. So I don't know if we should spend massive amounts of time on a newsletter, as last time we got one person to come back temporarily. What do you all think?

All this effort to try and get people back Anno1404 probably isn't worth it. As much as I'd like to see this place booming as much as you, when it comes right down to it, 90% of a modding forums population will come from peoples interest in the game itself just isn't there. When the forums originally came out, along with the game, it was pretty good on population, but peoples interest in the game itself just fell off, so they didn't care to check back in on mods. The games reviews were pretty mixed, and I see a chunk of people think the original DR was better.

My point is, I don't think it's worth our time to try and push peoples attention to these forums. If people wanted to have Dead Rising 2 mods, they can very easily google it - it's very easy to find by google. People's interest in the game just isn't there.

On my other forums I've been on since 2007, the resident evil 4 & 5 PC Modding forums, it's still going very strong. Even though there aren't that many mod releases these days, the game's population themselves is what keep it alive. Both games are very well known and have really high sale numbers so peoples interest in the games themselves bring them back to the forums often to check for mod updates.

I have to agree. I am glad I realized that with that short email before we spent a lot more time.

Well i have some sort of idea i see that there are alot of guests that come on this site, I have seen a lot of forums make it manditory to sign in or sign up to view more post or if you don't like that make it to where only registered users can see the links provided to download the mods. It would force people to create a account and have to stay to keep downloading mods

change the forum name to Game modding or something.got to appeal to the masses and not the few.

But this is a place for Dead Rising mods and discussion.

That's like how I heard G4, a video game network, were going to bring in shows like Lost and Heros to heighten their low ratings. It's just moronic.

Adam Sessler is really funny when he reviews a bad game.

But yeah otherwise that network is in the tank, occasional reruns of x-play and a marathon of Cops makes for a terrible network.

I hope that it does not disturb my thoughts ...
I think it is very not active for several reasons: Few mod proposals for both DR2 and OTR by the most experienced modder, confusion between the sections and how they are presented, some tutorials not clear, not little help to the n00b trying to get closer to modding . The guest loses interest and does not register seeing these factors, which are present in other similar sites.

The board seems pretty boring.
IMO it feels like this whole board is just dying out in the dust. I have been returning and disappering for some time, it's pretty much because I have been on another board.

In order to get the population back, you'll need to make the board interesting. The tutorials are pretty unclear, the mods aren't that much fun and alot of files needed are sometimes unavalible and hard to find.

This will most likely be one of my last posts, so I want to thank everyone here for sticking through and being so cool.
How you all have a great future and that you'll all experience what you desire to live or relive.

To make the boards more interesting we would have to pay for som new stuff which will get rid of the ads and so on. Unless we all throw some donations together then this won't be done. Most of the mods done are done by people who haven't been on here in ages. Most of the links to mods are down cause of these people. I do agree that some tuts could use a tune up to make more sense. This place is mostly dieing since we can't get any farther with modding DR2 and OTR other than model importing. So thanks for your (what seems to be) final message and imput. :)

The board's dead and pretty much the sole reason I only pop in once a month now. Too bad, had we gotten a proper community think of the mods we could've achieved.
