Brandon Whittaker way he walks/runs - glass shard
« Thread Started on Jul 10, 2012, 4:29pm »

Hello everybody and thank you for reading^^,
since i am a huge fan of Brendon Whittaker (the Hippie-cure boss in the mens toilet) i already use the huge mod to play as him.
now i have two questions:
1: is it possible to change chucks way of movement to Brendons?or at least the way he walks/runs?
2: Freako already showed me that it was possible to use Brandons Glassshard as a weapon myself (thanks again^^).
but since Drag/draw doesnt work anymore i cant pack/unpack .big files (i tried the desctop thing) :'(.
so my question concerning the weapon is if anybody would kindly add it to the datafile so i can use it if i uploaded mine.
or if anybody maybe knows how to fix my drag/drop problem because im running out of ideas.
even google couldnt help me.

anyways i hope you know an answer to my questions and,in best case, are willing to help me^^.

best wishes (and good night for today ;D),
Chad

I have a suggestion, although i'm not sure if it'll work as I haven't tried it, but it's worth a shot.

You could try and go to Program Files/Capcom/Dead Rising 2 Off The Record/Data/Anim/Battle and unpack the protestor.big. This file contains all of the animations for Brandon Whittaker. You could then unpack default.big which is located here; Program Files/Capcom/Dead Rising 2 Off The Record/Data/Anim.

Once you've done that, you could try copying and pasting some/all of Brandon's animations, such as idle and movement animations into the default.big and making sure you rename the file to correspond to the default Frank animation. Once that's done, simply repack the defualt.big and load up Dead Rising. Remember to backup your original default.big! I'm not sure if the attack animations would work, but you can give it a shot.

If you decide to try this, do post back with the results.

at first thank you^^
though im afraid it doesnt work or i just dont get it to work...
im not quiete sure bout that^^.
i renamed the files in the protester.big/fullbody.big file in the "battle" folder file and put them into the default.big/fullbody.big file.
nothing changed so far.
did you mean something else i should do?
i replaced the "boss_protester" in the name of every file with "cat" like in the default.big/fullbody.big folder.
is that what you ment?
im pretty sure your idea was quiete different right?^^

edit: oh and i am using dead rising 2 not OTR but i dont think that makes any difference does it?

Ok you're on the right lines, but you need to rename the protestor files you're copying across to the same name as the animation for Frank, e.g rename the protestor idle to run animation as "frank_idle_combat_to_run" repeating the same process for all of Frank's movement animations. This should hopefully work. Also you need to do the same for the root.big. Extract the movement animations of the root.big found within protestor.big and copy and rename the animations found in there into the root.big within default.big, remembering to rename the files so that they replace the movement animations for Frank.

Apoligies if this doesn't work, i've not tested it personally, but in theory it should work. As a safety measure, make your you've backed up the original files.

So for now....
A little update:
I manged to make my character move and hold his weapon like Brandon.
the only problem is that after a few seconds the upper body animations swich back to Chucks.
If i stand still for a second and then move again the first few seconds are Brandon again.
I just don't get why it switches back.
And why just the upper body ???
If anybody has any idea please tell me.
Until then i'll keep trying.

Best wishes ,
Chad

Chuck has an animation where he starts running from standing around. You probably swapped over that. Look for more of chuck's running animations and swap all of them over.

You should release it as a mod here.
